Silk Care

So, you’ve just arrived home with a ziploc bag with your wet scarf in it.  Remember to be gentle, and try to handle it as little as possible until after it has been ironed and the paint is set.   Fill a bowl or sink with cold water.  Add a small amount of liquid fabric softener or hair conditioner if you’d like.  Remove the scarf from the bag and place it in the water.  Let it soak for a few minutes if you aren’t using fabric softener, or an hour if you are.  Give it a swish in the water to release the wrinkles from folding and hang it to drip dry.  For best results, do not wring or twist the scarf to force water out faster.  You can use a hanger with clips, or drape it over the shower bar (but make sure to wipe the bar down first, mine gets dusty!!)   Allow to dry for at least 12 hours, and the iron on the reverse side using a hot setting to set the colors.  Ironing is critical to prevent fading of colors in sun and for later washing!
Now your items is ready to wear!  Be sure to post photos online with the hashtag #ArtPartyNY so that we can see how amazing you look!!!
When you need to clean your item after wearing, we suggest you hand wash in cold water using Woolite or baby shampoo and line dry.  We do not recommend dry cleaning.
